Video Update 1-21-09

I started running out of battery midway, so this video really moves along quickly. Sometimes the narrator is slightly distracted by the fact that the screen was flashing "RED" and saying the camera was about to die. But, this should give you a feel for where we're headed...I'll let you decide if it was the battery that ended the video or Chuck. :)

Update 1-19-2009

Stopped by the building this afternoon.  I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in.  Usually there are stacks of sheetrock and AC ducts in the lobby that take up a lot of room.  However, today it was completely empty and the floor was swept.  The ceiling grid was in place and all walls were completed.  I asked Melvin our Construction Foreman what was going on.  He said we were getting ready to start putting the flooring in!

It's amazing how quickly things are moving along.  Here are some bullets of other things I noticed that were completed.

• The entire sound/media booth is sheetrocked and looks like it's part of the room now.
• Entire stage is completed, including the closets and the equipment ramp that leads down to the green room back stage.
• All recessed lighting cans are in place throughout the lobby.  You can really start to see how this area is going to look!
• All floors have been swept and are being prepped for covering.

Other things that happened last week.

• Our chairs were ordered and will be here right on time!
• Our stage curtains are being designed and are set to be installed exactly on time!
• Our building sign is being finalized and is set to be installed on time.

Update 1-13-09

• I went over to the building this morning to see the progress they've made since Friday. They are really moving fast over there. They have since added all flourescent lighting to the offices, hallways, and children's rooms. You can really start to get a feel for how the rooms will be.
  
• In addition, they extended the furr down from the restrooms to make one over the welcome area as well. They built the walls for the closet behind there too.
  
• In the Worship Center, the stage is nearly complete, they are onto the more intricate work of creating the two sets of stairs on the front sides of the stage and the set leading from the offices.
  
• All of our cabling for Sound, Visual, and Lighting have been run as of this morning.
  
• Last week we purchased two reception desks that will be used in the lobby. This was such an answer to prayer as we were seeing many overpriced desks that were way out of our budget. These two were used in an Aveda salon that recently closed down. They will be perfect for our information table and kids check in desk. Here are some pictures.

• This week we are looking to purchase our chairs for the main worship center and are finalizing our order for all networking for the offices.
